People find the unseeing mist called fog as romantic, mysterious and sometimes beautiful. However, when the fog becomes smoke, it takes on an entirely different meaning even though it creates almost the same effect. There's nothing romantic or beautiful about a fire to people who have dedicated their lives to fight them. When they arrive at a fire they wonder if there is anyone trapped within its smokey confines. They fight to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible and spring into action to rescue anyone who might be trapped. Firemen and Ground Zero took on a whole new meaning after September 11, 2001. An awareness was brought to everyone plus a deep respect for those who gave of their lives then; and also the ones that put their lives on the line daily. Scenes like this occur all over the world everyday. I don't think a tribute is unreasonable.
