While in Bowling Green, we stopped by a special place. The eldest son of one of my childhood friends had drowned in a freak swimming accident in the river near here. He was only 24. He was also my daughter-in-law's best friend when they were growing up and she wanted to visit the spot again. There was only one tree with its leaves still on it. It was a maple that the young man's family had planted as a memorial. Oh, and my youngest grandson shares his name. Lots of memories in a simple image.
