I've lived in this area for most of my life and I've never seen a cluster like this. Maybe I've never paid attention before but this day-hike I did. I thought it was beautiful. It's a type of pine tree but I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what type of pine. Most immature cones on pine trees are green so I am stumped!
