Several years back I began to follow The Band of Heathens, a band that this year was No. 31 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of Best Americana Acts in the US. Over the years, the band members and I have become good friends. A few months back they were the backing band for singer-songwriter Hayes Caryll's tour. As we hung out backstage I met Hayes and his teen son, both of whom were quite nice. The Heathens were shooting video during their opening set and after the 4-minute mark of this video if you know who and what to look for you can see me a couple of times shooting photos from the stage wings. I came out front to get more shots during Hayes Caryll's set. If you happen to see The Band of Heathens sometime, be sure to ask Ed (guitar player right behind Hayes in this pic) "Where's Lowell?" and/or bring Gordy (black jacket) a bottle of cheap French wine (gotta be French--and red).
