Another 5:30am start, hour of cycling and then 2hour mountain climb had me up just after sunrise ontop of the Glyders, N.Wales. It was insanely misty, and the cloud inversion I'd hoped for was instead peaks swathed in fog. Occasionally this fog, which turned out to be the cloud ceiling sitting inconsiderately at 1000m, would clear for a few seconds and the early morning sun beam through, lighting parts of the mountainside. I sat for various long periods of time waiting for these sun shafts all day, and got some decent shots out of it. For foreground interest, frost-splitted rocks made attractive if jagged shapes into the frame...
