Quick...take a photo before the sailboat........ by Vickid

bfrank: Congrats on winning the "Breaking the Rules" contest Vicki.

rvdb: Vicki great shot but if I look at the angel you weer really leaning over the guardrail be safe.

Rob

Ramad: Congrats Vicki on winning the contest. I expected that this would win and had voted for it because it is a true spontaneous take with "broken rules".

2nd place
Profiles by braces

LynEve: Intriguing ! - makes us want to see more and wonder what they are doing there in front of the crooked trellis. A Barbeque? A working bee? A garden tour?

questjester: Congratulations, Steve! :)

Vickid: This photo is intriguing and really catches your eye. Excellent composition, result works perfectly. Bravo.

Light trails on M66 by stylo

bfrank: Nice shot of light trails. I'm glad you didn't get hurt there in the dark or arrested.

4th place
Breaking the Rules by Dunstickin

corngrowth: Congratulations Bob, for your 4th place in the "Breaking the Rules" contest.
Well done Owd Mucker!

Pistos: What I like is that it breaks rules while keeping them in more subtle ways. The tall grass on the left and the grey clouds cause the image to be broken 1/3 to 2/3 in the vertical direction. The tops of the people's heads plus the blue sky/cloud line roughly falls on the 1/3 line. Nice results. It is because the rules are broken that the image traps the eye, such as the subjects not being large in the picture, and yet because of subtlety, the picture remains pleasing to the eye, so you continue looking.

5th place
Broken Rules by Ramad

corngrowth: ---too much sky---

Think that this 'maritime pigeon' won't agree with you, Raj, because much sky is very helpful to it for a proper take-off, ☺ .
Good entry for the current contest however.
Good Luck with it, my friend!
