Skelly Oil was founded in 1919 by William Skelly. J. Paul Getty purchased control of the company in the 1930's and it remained Skelly Oil until it became a part of Getty Oil Company in 1974. The Skelly brand became defunct in 1977. The Skelly logo was revived in 2012. I suspect so someone could make more money from nostalgia buffs. I wish the vehicle hadn't been there, but the keys were not in it, I could not locate the owner and the police refused to have it towed away.
