This owl is also called the Barn Owl or the Hoot Owl. I like those names better. When I first saw this owl on the fence post, all I had was my Nikon Coolpix S9500 point & shoot camera. I took a few shots with it and then drove home to get my Nikon D7000 and 70-300 lens. When I returned it was gone from this fence post. I had almost given up when I spied it on another fence post. That's when I got this shot. The background and the colors are completely different between the two cameras. Perhaps I need to change the settings on the D7000. The colors seem brighter on the Nikon Coolpix S9500. It sure was a patient little fella until I pushed my luck.
