This school was built in the early 1920's and was used until the late 40's or early 50's. It served students from Kindergarten through the 10th grade. After the 10th grade they went to a High School in Glenwood, Mo. It is all that remains of the town. The rest of the town has faded into history. I can still remember going to a one-room school. The local newspaper used the photo this week, so I guess it qualifies for the Photojournalism Gallery.

Several different families lived in the structure over the years after it was decommissioned as a school. It was also used as a hunting cabin for out of state deer and turkey hunters. I have seen both deer and turkey feeding in the old school yard. Two old buzzards flew in to reminisce about the old days. That's about all that is left--"old buzzards reminiscing."
