I'm really not trying to make light of a situation, but there was recently a tragedy in my back yard. I found a Bluejay laying next to one of the windows of my perch where I take photos of the visitors. His neck appeared broken and I thought he had just flown into the window. It happens quite frequently. However, when going through my files I found this photo where a Bluejay seemed to be giving a dove the once-over. Could there be a jealous bluejay on the loose? The cause of death was changed from accidental to suspicious. An investigation is currently underway. A little bird told me that a female bluejay left yesterday for Canada. This could have been in the photojournalism gallery, but out of respect to the dove, I'm keeping it out of the mainstream news.
