Sinaia Monastery had been built by the Sword bearer Mihail Cantacuzino,Valahian Lord Serban Cantacuzino's brother in 1690-1695. Mihail Cantacuzino was highly impressed during a pilgrimage made in Jerusalem and Sinai Peninsula.Consequently,at his return from the Holy Places,he took the decision of building a monastery that should bar the name of Virgin Mary.This represents Sinaia's etymology.....
