Following a long, exhaustive and extensive university sponsored and government funded study it has been concluded that ducks in general and this duck in particular pose the least amount of danger when they are at rest. Seems like money well spent to me. The jury is still out on geese and swans as they were outside the purview of the research project. So use caution when approaching such stationary subjects.
