Some ducks down at the pond seeking shelter in the shade provided by a willow tree overhanging the water. The logic of which escaped me considering the sky was overcast and it was none too warm that day. The only predators in the area were of the two-legged variety and none of us were 'loaded for bear' as the saying goes even though this is the height of duck/rabbit season.
