While visiting The Gardens at Lake Merritt in Oakland last January we came across this "Bee Hotel" which really caught our attention!. Because of the dwindling native bee populations here, this project serves to assist in saving the bees of this area.The bee hotel contains dead logs of different types of wood and stands in a patch of dirt, with holes drilled to encourage bees to settle in.
