I took a walk in Trout Creek park last week and went back into the woods a bit off the beaten path. It was real nice, you couldn't really hear the traffic noise from I-75 and there were area's to explore that had been under water. There's a lot of history to this area. There in an Indian burial mound around this area and places like Lettuce Lake Park were rich in ancient Indian settlements. I'm sure you could find some interesting things if you looked around.
