It's been a good minute (as they say in the south) since I have been on Caedes. Reminds me of the line from the Wings song Admiral Halsey "The kettle's on the boil, and we're so easily called away." Such is life I suppose. In any event, I think I am done with my travels for now. I went up to Ohio back in mid-May and saw that that the town of Xenia wasn't too far way. We had some time so we headed over to take a look. Why Xenia? In 1974 there was a super outbreak of killer tornados that destroyed the town, but it wasn't just Xenia that was impacted, some of the tornados passed by where I lived about 280 miles to the north. I still vividly remember that day. Fortunately, our home was not damaged, but most of the large elm trees were uprooted on our street and I remember me and the other neighbourhood kids making forts out of the fallen trees before they were cut up. It was a bit surreal, walking around the downtown district, knowing most of it was gone all those years ago. I managed to find a plaque at the courthouse, I had no idea if there was one, but figured that was my best bet of find anything commemorating this event. If you're interested at all concerning this, here's a good site
