I wanted to include one more photo of the grandfather of the park. It's hard to capture the whole tree so I included a shot of the base along with a shot I took yesterday of most of the tree itself. Several hundred years ago, most of the swamp had trees such as this. For some reason, no one knows why, they left it alone and he still stands to this day. After all these years I still get goosebumps when I pass by and see the the huge gnarled knees, something you never really see and show how ancient he truly is.
