My grandmother was nearly 2 years old on that professionnal photo (Eilersten Scherr's Studio in Epinal, France). It was 1 year before the first World War. Two of her uncles would be killed in Verdun (France). When I fist saw that pic I was puzzled as I remember my grandma as an old lady: she was a kid once!
