Another from Easter Day . . . The Oamaru stone Baptist Church , Oamaru, was founded in 1883, and built in 1889. I found an old newspaper article describing the 'Opening Soiree" where 400 people listened to a history of the Church and that 'thanks to the liberality of the ladies of the congregation there was more than an abundant supply of good things' !
