Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain,3,754 metres (12,316 ft), forms part of the Southern Alps which run the length of the South Island. Before December 1991 it was 33ft higher when approx 10 million cubic metres of rock and ice fell off the northern peak Aoraki means "Cloud Piercer" in Maori. . . .Taken with Canon 450D.
