Yellow-eyed Penguin (Megadyptes antipodes)
The Yellow-eyed Penguin or Hoiho (meaning noise-shouter) is native to New Zealand, and is the worlds rarest penguin. Approximations of remaining numbers vary from 4000 to 6000 so I think I was very priviledged to see several while walking along the coast within the Katiki Point Reserve on the North Otago (NZ) coast today, and delighted to get some photos of them.
Taken with Canon 450D. I hope you like these two. Thanks for viewing and for any comments.
