I snapped this through the car window which has made the sky a bit intense.
The poplars are standing tall in the sunshine, but the remains of their companions on the hill further on lie felled :( The felled trees are Wilding Pines, which are very invasive and need to be controlled.They spread very quickly and as they have no berries or nectar become a threat to native birdlife and insects and the pine needles cover the ground, preventing re-vegetation..They are classed as a weed.
