The outlet of this spring fed high country lake feeds into the smaller Lake McGregor (which I posted photos of previously) and from there McGregor feeds into the much larger Lake Tekapo. This is a Wildlife Refuge.
At an altitude of 732 metres (2,402 ft), its depth is approx 27 metres (89 ft). Only rowing boats are allowed on the lake, no sail or powered boats permitted. All you hear is birdsong and on this occassion the quiet splash of the oars of this boat.
