Did you see the episode of "Coast" where Nick demonstrated a fundamental problem mappers have when determining how long a coastline is? If you use a "foot" unit of measure, it smoothes out lots of the smaller ins and outs, giving one distance. If you use a mm measure, it fits into much much smaller ins and outs and consequently your coastline will turn out to be twice as long. Fractals at play in the real world, fascinating. Anyway, this shot reminded me of that fractal quality of coastlines. Saddell Bay on the Kintyre Peninsula, Scotland.
Enjoy.
