In the Gion Kobu area of Kyoto there continues to be maintained the tradition of Geisha, who in this area are called "Geiko". They often appear very stern and super composed as they walk together down cobblestoned streets so it was cool to capture this moment, which was actually at my expense. :) Just as I had managed to get ahead of them and get composed for a shot a local workman wandered across the alley between the Geiko and me and clearly was oblivious to all the effort I had put in to getting exactly where I was in relation to the these two ladies. When it happened one said something to the other and smiles appeared abruptly, they were far too polite to ever look in my direction to suggest the laugh was at my expense. Kyoto rocks.
