The Great Crested Grebe and some smaller ones. This mother bird carries her young on her back most of the day, while father goes off and on with newly catched fish. You can sit and whatch them for hours. I shot this at 300 mm with a Canon EF 70-300 mm zoom lens and of course a tripod. I had my camera completely set in manual mode and manual focus at ISO200/f8/1/200s but I still made one mistake: I left the image stabilizer on (mode 2). And as a result, the image is not as sharp as I had hoped for. So, my tip of the day for all of you colleges: if you use a tripod, the stabilizer should be OFF!
