I was watering the flowers today and notice that a drop hit a petal and quickly rolled to the center. Instead of dispersing, it remain a bead. Suddenly, it struck me what a clever design this was. Here was a drop of water waiting for some thirsty insect to come along to drink. That the insect would stir up the pollen was of no concern to the insect but was of a benefit to the flower holding the offering of water.
