Last year my youngest son created a hugelkultur in our front yard. We endured ribbing from the neighbors about the bodies buried there. Then in the fall I bought a bunch of plants to dress it up. I planted three hyssops along the top. They were about 8 inches tall. The butterflies and bees could not get enough of them. This year the hyssops grew to over three feet tall! And on top of a mound that was already about three feet tall ... well, they look HUGE. This a monarch feeding on them back in July.
