I enjoying walking past this at night and people watch. The have a 9/11 Tribute to Heroes Forever a Part of New York-New York Casino. Forever a Part of their Hearts and Minds. Committed to respectfully preserving the thousands of articles thoughtfully left in the front of the resort after the tragic day's events, they built a permanent tribute for them located at the base of the Statue of Liberty replica. The tribute is a granite structure with shadow boxes encasing just some of the many heartfelt artifacts and items for your remembrance. Among the cherished items collected are: T-shirts pinned with handwritten notes T-shirts with fire stations' insignia Handwritten letters and notes from volunteer firefighters Flowers Flags T-shirts bearing police departments' insignia Poems Pictures of family and friends Candles Plaques Sweatshirts with pictures of victims Cards Badges from rescue workers Items not displayed in the tribute were archived and stored at the Special Collections Department at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Library where they receive museum-quality preservation storage.
