Visiting Arizona for the first time, a friend took me on a short walk through the Saguaro National Park in Tucson. Having been raised in the area he told of a rattlesnake den that was sure to have some snakes rising from hibernation to sun in the warmth of the day. He warned, for good reason, so follow his footsteps as we left the river wash and ventured deeper into the desert. With trained eyes he spotted this one rattler that he estimated to be a "four footer". Given he was a snake breeder at one stage of his life I was plenty satisfied to take his word for it. First rattlesnake I've seen in the wild. Captured here for your pleasure.
