This very old mining field opened in the 17th century and lasted until the 19th century. Bye using fire and black powder they made the bedrock crack. Then they could start ore mining. To keep the mines from flood in they used horses to operate the pumps. Today the water has taken back the mines. Because of the copper the water has this beautiful green-blue colour. But it is poisonous. The deepest hole is 54 meters deep. That is why the fences have bin put up around the mining holes.
