I was going to call this the 'Flower Snail', but Mum came up behind me and barked "it's that slug again!"

Of course it's not a slug. It has been on Caedes.net before -- see The Snail in Springtime.

The odd thing about this picture was that it began as something else. Somewhere along the way, the other creature vamooshed and the snail popped up instead. Photographers are not alone with that particular problem.
