Contrary to perceived wisdom, Dracula was not born in Transylvania, but here in the fertile mind of Bram Stoker. These are the ruins of the 11th century Benedictine Abbey at Whitby, Yorkshire, which inspired Stoker to create the character. I could not resist the urge to add Stoker style atmospherics to this image, & I'll post the original shortly. (I have since cleaned the graininess up & will post rework in my next upload slot)
