This marks the spot where i began my trek to Dove crag waterfall..A place I will never visit again..I have never had such difficulty reaching a waterfall and I've been to a few hard ones..A 7 mile round trip through narrow soaking footpaths and dense forest..The recent rains suggested to me this fall would be in full flow as it was the only time it did owing to the peaty forest floor soaking up the rainwater...Boy was I wrong!..When I got there barely a trickle..This was hard to stomach after my 4 mile hike through difficult terrain and the prospect of a further 3 mile hike to get back out..I will post one of the falls later but before that..I'll make you lot suffer nearly as much as I did before getting home and getting a bat across the earhole for being covered in clarts...R.
