Its full title is The Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ The King but it has had several other names. In its time it has been called "The Mersey Funnel" (a reference to the two world famous Mersey Tunnels) and "Paddy's Wigwam" ( a reference to the very large Irish Catholic population of Liverpool) but usually it's called the Catholic Cathedral. This is, of course, to distinguish it from the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
