I am posting this image now at the suggestion of LynEve. The last foofy I posted was "The White Rose" and in my narrative I mentioned that it was the emblem of the county of Yorkshire. Well, Yorkshire's bitterest rival is the adjacent northern county of Lancashire and, you've guessed it, its emblem is The Red Rose.
The rivalry between the counties has carried on for hundreds of years and was even fought out in a series of civil wars in the 15th century called "The Wars of The Roses".
