I remember this one day when a fellow soldier and I were setting up some equipment. I commented to him that I was sweating like a pig. He said that his wife had informed him that women never sweat-they glow. So...I was glowing my but off to get these for yall! The sun was working against me. These are some of the ruins at the Mission of San Juan. A bit of history (pay attention, there will be a quiz later): Various work shops and storerooms are situated around the mission courtyard. When a mule train arrived here from as far off as Mexico City carrying items such as fabrics, hats, pots, griddles, and iron bars they were unpacked and stored here. Then mission wares such as hides, tallow and foodstuffs were loaded onto the mule train for export. Spanish settlers in the nearby village of San Fernando traded cash for food grown in the mission fields. Even though trade with French Louisiana was illegal, the colonists of that area were eager to barter to get their hands on mission raised hides and tallow.
