Taken in the popular Valley of Fire north of Las Vegas, this is a remnant of sand dunes that covered the area 150 million years ago. Sorry for that modern item, a road, on the left. It was late in the day when the low red sun picked up the colors of the rocks quite well. For me, the Valley of Fire beats the Las Vegas strip any day of the week!
