This picture is taken at Sept, 6th, 2006 in the 'Kanaal van Walcheren' near the locks of Veere, The Netherlands. I was invited by a foundation, called SBH, for a sailing tour to Arnemuiden on the occasion of the re-opening of an ancient shipyard there. This shipyard will be, in the near future, the home base for this foundation to reconstruct more ancient Dutch wooden fishing boats. On this picture you can see two of the allready reconstructed boats. It's hard to imagine that in the past fishermen had the courage to sail on 'open seas' with those tiny boats. My late granddad was one of them.
