The first slot (castle) Ter Hooge was built approximately 1300. Nowadays only one tower of the 'old' castle remains. The 'new' castle was built in 1754 - 1759 and is owned now by one family. The landed estates around this castle are managed by the Zeeland Countryside Foundation and are mainly opened to the public.
