This is the entrance to the, in 1643 built and since then often restorated, 'Zeemanserve' (23 former almshouses) in Flushing, the Netherlands. On top of this entrance two crests, left: the Zeeland crest and right: the Flushing crest. The text on the memorial plaque is a kind of rhyme in 'old Dutch' and reads (translated in English): "This house has been founded by Cornelia Quack, widow of the late Carl Nijs. Thrift is good, giving to the poor is sweet, but from God comes the abundance. To those who will think of the poor, God will give them his Kingdom of Heaven. Cornelia Nijs, this is my house."
