In the past, the fishermen of Arnemuiden, Zeeland, the Netherlands caught not only fish but shrimps as well. The shrimps were boiled on board (at sea in fresh seawater) and when their tiny wooden fishing boats were back in the harbour, peeled by their wifes and then sold, giving some extra income. Those Arnemuiden women however, are peeling the shrimps only for a folklore demonstration. Visitors could eat (all you can eat for free) the peeled shrimps and say whether the taste was good or not. When you compare the traditional clothes of those women with the traditional clothes of some women at my earlier 'folklore' posts, you will see differences. Every Zeeland island or peninsula had its own particular traditional clothes style, so Zeeland people always could see, in the past, from which island or peninsula other Zeeland people came.
