To a lot of people, the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands is very attractive because of different reasons. Perhaps therefore in the summertime Zeeland is visited by a lot of Dutch and foreign tourists. As tourists spend money and have to pay, in an indrect way, some taxes on some occasions to the provincial or local government (e.g. integrated in admission fees), they are more than welcome (!). The provincial government, being very inventive, decided a couple of years ago to pay Zeeland farmers some subsidy for sowing flowers-seeds along the borders of their fields. So, a lot of fields in Zeeland are surrounded by flowers in the summertime, making Zeeland even more attractive to tourists than it already is. This series will show you some results of this well-considered action.
PS: in my title I've mentioned them wildflowers because they grow in open fields, but on close examination is this not correct as this kind of flowers can be found in gardens and parks as well.
