Image is taken in Middelburg, Zeeland, the Netherlands. It shows the more than 90 metres high tower/steeple with the nickname 'De Lange Jan' (Tall John). This tower was completely destroyed in World War II, but was rebuilt after WW II (rebuilding was finished in July of 1955). At the left-under side of this image a sculpture in bronze can be seen of a man who after WW II is facing his regained freedom with his head and arms raised in the air. On the pedestal of this sculpture can be read (in the 'Old Dutch' language): "My heart stayed steadfast in adversity, 1940 -1944." (Zeeland was liberated from the German nazis at the end of 1944)

Hope you'll like this image. Thanks in advance for your comment.
