Depicted is the castle 'Schaloen', situated in South Limburg (the most south eastern part of The Netherlands).

The castle originates from 1381. In 1575 most of the castle was destructed by fire. The reconstruction was finished in 1656.

Nowadays it has a hotel/restaurant function.
