This image, taken on October 24th, 2021, shows a bridge for bikers and pedestrians in Bruges, Belgium which has the official name 'Minnewaterbridge' because it crosses the Minnewater (Lake of Love).

It's nickname however is 'Lovers Bridge'. The 'Minnewater' is tucked away at the southern end of Bruges. It's a great place to be with someone you love! A very tranquil location within the confines of the city. So serene and peaceful. A wonderful place to relax with families or loved ones.

A legend tells the story of a young and pretty girl named Minna who was in love with Stromberg, a warrior of a neighboring tribe. Her father did not agree with her love and arranged her to marry a man of his choice. Minna escaped and ran into the forest. When Stromberg finally found her, she died in his arms of exhaustion. The lake was named after Minna and the bridge by the lake was considered the bridge of love, in her honor.
