Depicted is Het Steen (The Stone), a medieval fortress built between 1200 and 1225, and reconstructed about 1520.
It's situated at the right bank of the Scheldt river in downtown Antwerp, a city in Belgium.
The fortress was reduced in size about 1880 due to widening the Scheldt river and straightening the quays in order to stop the silting up of the Scheldt river.
