This is a picture of the sculpture 'The Mask of Ensor'. It's a tribute to James Ensor on the occasion of the Ensor Year 2024 (only available in the Dutch language).

It was made by the Belgian artist Maxime Van Besien. The sculpture is 4 meters high (> 13 feet) and is located on the Doverplein (Dover Square) in the city of Ostend, Belgium. The bust is made entirely of natural materials, such as wood, reed and straw. It is the only work of art in Belgium that is made of natural sustainable materials.

The photograph was taken on June 29th, 2024. The artwork meanwhile has become somewhat gray due to weather influences. It can still be admired for a while, but will soon be recycled.
