When visiting the seafront in Terneuzen, a harbor town in Zeeland, The Netherlands, one could see this contemporary sculpture, created by the female artist Eef de Graaf (information is only >available in the Dutch language). She had similar artworks there, and she calls her branch of art 'Urban Art'. Her artworks, and that of many others, were on display along the Terneuzen seafront on the occasion of the annual 'Imagination Route'.
If you might think that this sculpture had the intention to show you to a certain destination, think it wouldn't have been that helpful, hence the jokingly meant title of this photograph. Eef however wants to show you the purpose of her artwork: her work is about humans in relation to nature and their confusion in digital times. She finds it important that humans with all their feelings and emotions aren't 'snowed under' in an increasingly rapidly changing society in which negative news dominates. The silhouette and the elements: water, air, earth and fire remain themes that she elaborates on in her work. The developments in the transition to a new, more nature-friendly, sustainable society also play an important role in her reflections and work.
