In the Netherlands (aka Holland) many cities/towns have canals. The Amsterdam canals are well known.

In the Zeeland province, where I live, there are cities/towns with canals too. An example is Middelburg, where one of the canals is depicted here.

PS: on the quay on the left you see a number of floating mobile homes. Although there's only a very limited amount of 'mooring possibilities', some people request to be put on the waiting list for a mooring place in order to live in such a floating home instead to live in a 'normal' house/apartment. Of course it's up to them to have a preference where they want to live.
